Man killed in semi crash on Indy’s northwest side
INDIANAPOLIS — A man is dead after a semitruck and a sedan collided on the northwest side of Indianapolis. IMPD crews were called around 12:50 p.m. Tuesday to the 5400 block of Guion Road on report of a car crash. Upon arrival at the crash scene, which is near the intersection of W. 54th Street and Guion Road, they found a black sedan that had run into the front end of a semi. The driver of the black sedan, identified as an adult male, was taken to the hospital in critical condition. IMPD said he later died, shortly after arriving at the hospital. The driver of the semi, also an adult male, was not injured. IMPD said he remained on scene and is cooperating with their investigation. The semi driver has since been taken to a local hospital for a blood draw, although IMPD said he showed no signs of impairment. Preliminary information indicates that the black sedan was traveling south on Guion Road when the driver crossed over into northbound traffic for an unknown reason. The sedan ultimately collided with the front end of the semi, IMPD said. The IMPD Fatal Crash Investigation Team has since been called to the scene. No other information was immediately provided. FOX59/CBS4 has a crew on the way to the scene to gather more details.
