Man killed in rollover crash in East Providence
EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- One man is dead and a woman was injured following a rollover crash in East Providence early Sunday morning. According to East Providence Police Chief Michael Rapoza, crews were called to a report of a rollover around 4 a.m. on the Wampanoag Trail at Forbes Street. Rapoza only identified the victim who died as "a young adult male". The woman, who is also not being identified, had minor injuries and was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries. They were in a newer model Jeep Wrangler, but Rapoza did not say who was driving. Traffic was diverted for several hours in the area, but was re-opened by 9:30 a.m. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
