Man killed in high-speed crash in northwest Las Vegas valley
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- A man was killed in a high-speed single-vehicle crash in the northwest Las Vegas valley Saturday. Around 11:57 p.m., Metro police responded to a report of a crash on Oso Blanca Road, south of Kyle Canyon Road. Evidence at the scene and witness statements showed that a 2020 Ford Fusion was driving northbound on Oso Blanca Road at a high rate of speed, when it failed to negotiate the curve. The Ford left the road, hit a raised dirt berm, and overturned onto the driver's side. The car then caught fire, according to Metro police. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. This death marks the 58th traffic-related fatality in LVMPD's jurisdiction for 2026.
