LMPD: 8 injured in double rollover crash on I-265
Police say eight people have been hospitalized following a two-vehicle rollover crash on I-265 Sunday evening. Louisville Metro Police say emergency crews were called out to the 24.5 mile-marker on I-265 around 6:50 p.m. on Sunday on reports of a crash. On scene, officers found a pickup truck and a sedan rolled over and stuck in the cable barriers. According to the initial police investigation, officials say one of the vehicles was merging into the center lane when it collided into the second vehicle. The crash caused both drivers to lose control of their vehicles, causing the roll-overs.Police say that Anchorage Middletown Fire and EMS were first to the scene, where they triaged the victims and took them to the hospital. Police believe all eight victims have injuries that are non-life-threatening. All lanes of traffic, north and southbound, were closed following the accident, but they have since reopened.
