Man in wheelchair killed in Jackson hit-and-run
A 31-year-old man in a wheelchair was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Jackson.Police said the incident happened about 8:30 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of East McDowell Road. According to accident investigators, a vehicle was traveling east when the man, who is believed to have been in the middle of the road, was struck. The vehicle left the scene. Police were unable to provide a description of the driver or the vehicle. The victim was later identified as Denzel Smith. Anyone with information about the fatal crash is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS.
