Man in Pelham arrested for drunk driving following crash into power pole, per police

Pelham Police were called to a motor vehicle accident on Saturday night at 71 Simpson Mill Road. Upon arrival, they found a 2006 Toyota Corolla with significant front-end damage that had crashed into a utility pole. The driver, a 29-year-old man from Lowell, Massachusetts, was found to have veered out of his lane while driving southbound on Simpson Mill Road, resulting in the collision with the pole. The road was closed for a while to allow crews to fix the damaged pole. The driver was taken to a local hospital by the Pelham Fire Department for minor injuries. Subsequent investigation revealed that the driver was under the influence of alcohol.
