Man ejected from motorcycle dies in Orange County crash

A 43-year-old man was killed after being ejected from his motorcycle during a crash in Santa Ana. On July 14, Santa Ana police were called to the intersection of First Street and Center Street just after 7 a.m. Officers found Calvin Williams, 43, of Costa Mesa, lying in the roadway with significant upper-body trauma. Despite lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators said Williams was riding his motorcycle eastbound on First Street when a car traveling alongside him suddenly changed lanes, causing them to collide. Williams was ejected from his motorcycle during the impact.  The other driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Although the cause of the crash remains under investigation, police said the driver did not appear to be impaired. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Detective Corporal M. Pardo at 714-245-8208 or the Santa Ana Police Department’s Traffic Division at 714-245-8200.
