Nine injured in boat accident in the Intracoastal Waterway near the Wharf
Saturday night on July 18 at approximately 8:30 p.m., the Orange Beach Police report they responded to assist Orange Beach Fire Rescue and Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) with a vessel accident near The Wharf Marina in the Intercoastal Waterway. Nine patients were taken to area hospitals. Orange Beach Police assisted Orange Beach Fire Rescue and ALEA in locating the injured parties, working landing zones for Air Care and ensuring scene security. Orange Beach Fire Rescue, Medstar Ambulance, Gulf Shores Fire Rescue and a medical helicopter transported the patients. In accordance with standard procedures, ALEA led vessel crash operations and will be the responsible party for the incident. Our thoughts and prayers are with those involved in the accident
