Man Dies in Sycamore Township After Car Becomes Airborne and Hits Power Pole
A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday morning in Sycamore Township, resulting in one individual's passing and another being in critical condition, as reported by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office. The collision took place at the intersection of Montgomery Road and Galbraith Road around 11 a.m. involving a 2007 Toyota Corolla. The vehicle, speeding northbound on Montgomery Road, collided with a Mercedes and subsequently veered off the road, leading to a series of impacts with a curb, tree branches, utility poles, and powerlines. Emergency responders from the Sycamore Fire Department had to extricate the occupants of the Corolla, who were then transported to the hospital in critical condition. Unfortunately, the driver, identified as 28-year-old Connor Walche, did not survive his injuries. Both Walche and the passenger were visiting for Christmas from South Carolina, with the vehicle registered to a resident of Mason. Thankfully, no injuries were reported for the driver of the Mercedes. The affected roadway near Kenwood Towne Centre remains closed at this time.
