Man charged after fatal South Memphis crash
MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A man has been charged after a pedestrian was killed in a South Memphis crash on Tuesday, but two others are still wanted, police said. On Tuesday, Trent Collier, 34, was arrested and charged with two counts of fabricating/tampering with evidence in connection with a homicide that occurred in the 1400 block of Gill Avenue. Collier's bond has been set at $7,500. He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday. Police said they are actively working to find another male and female suspects involved in the case. On Tuesday, MPD says they responded to the 1400 block of Gill for a crash at 2:20 p.m. A pedestrian who was struck was pronounced dead on the scene. Two suspects, a male and a female, sped away on Wilson Street, then abandoned their vehicle and ran, authorities said. A WREG reporter described seeing a car bumper, a pair of slides, and what appears to be a body behind the car debris.
