Man detained after fatal shooting in Phoenix, Baltimore County police say

One man has died following a shooting at a home in the Phoenix area Saturday, according to Baltimore County Police.Investigators said officers were called just before 2:30 p.m. Saturday to the 14000 block of Sawmill Court, off of Sweet Air Road, in the Mill Gate neighborhood, for a shooting in which a man was killed."(My son) heard a couple gunshots, didn't think much of it (because) there are hunters in the area from time to time," said Tony Alcala, who lives in the area. "Then, he heard some more gunshots, made him pause. Then, he heard screaming (and) thought it could've been kids in the neighborhood playing. Once we found out what happened in the neighborhood, we kind of pieced it together that I guess he heard the incident potentially."Police said a 41-year-old man has been detained. Investigators said the incident appears to be domestic, and there is no threat to the community. The investigation is ongoing. This shooting happened less than 24 hours after a deadly crash, involving teenagers, also in the Phoenix community. "(My wife) drove by (the deadly crash Friday night) a little after it happened," Alcala said. "Twenty-four hours, two terrible incidents in the same neighborhood within miles of each other. (It's) awful, terrible."
