Man badly hurt, road closed after motorcycle crash in Fairfax County

A man was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries following a crash in the Groveton area of Fairfax County, Virginia, on Thursday. The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) posted on social media shortly after 1:30 p.m. on July 16 that officers were at the scene of a motorcycle crash at the intersection of Richmond Highway and Memorial Street. Police said the adult male motorcyclist was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. As a result of the crash, Richmond Highway was closed at Memorial Street while detectives investigate. Drivers are being told to use different routes until the scene is clear. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
