Kempsville Road reopens after multi-vehicle crash near Hunningdon Lake Blvd
CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) -- Kempsville Road has reopened following a multi-vehicle crash at the Hunningdon Lake Boulevard intersection, according to Chesapeake Police. According to officials, officers were dispatched to the intersection at approximately 7:50 p.m. following a report of a two-vehicle crash. The preliminary invetigation by units on the scene indicates that a truck was turning onto Kempsville Road from Hunningdon Lake Boulevard when it was struck by another vehicle traveling on Kempsville Road. Both vehicles sustained damage as a result of the collision. All southbound lanes of Kempsville Road were temporarily closed while emergency personnel cleared the scene. The roadway has since reopened. Minor injuries were reported, with one individual being transported to a local hospital for evaluation. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
