Juvenile killed in West Jordan crash after driver fled from attempted traffic stop
A juvenile passenger was killed, and another was hospitalized after a crash involving a fleeing vehicle on Mountain View Corridor in West Jordan. South Jordan police attempted to stop a vehicle Saturday morning, but the driver allegedly fled the area, according to officials with the West Jordan Police Department. Officers stopped their pursuit and turned off their lights and sirens, but said the driver continued to flee. Shortly after, the car was involved in a crash at the intersection of Mountain View Corridor and Old Bingham Highway in West Jordan. A juvenile passenger of the fleeing vehicle was declared dead at the scene, and another juvenile was transported to Primary Children's Hospital. It is unclear at this time if the second juvenile was a passenger or the driver. Their ages are also unknown at this time. The adult driver of the second vehicle was transported to the hospital in stable condition. Police said this vehicle was not involved in the South Jordan incident. The crash is under investigation, with police still at the scene. ___
