Granby woman dies in deadly crash in Newton County
A tragic incident occurred on Friday morning in Newton County resulting in the death of a woman. The fatal crash took place around 10:45 on U.S. 60, one mile west of Granby. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a man from Granby lost control of his vehicle while traveling east, veering off the road and colliding with a tree. Unfortunately, the passenger, a 57-year-old woman from Granby, was fatally injured and pronounced dead after being taken to Freeman Neosho Hospital. The driver, a 48-year-old man, sustained minor injuries and was also transported to the same hospital for treatment. This marks the 5th fatality of the year in Troop D.
