Funeral set for Herrington Lake boat accident victim
LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Funeral arrangements have been announced Thursday for the man killed in a boating accident on Herrington Lake on the Fourth of July. The Mercer County Fire Department was dispatched shortly after 8 p.m. July 4 to a boat crash on Herrington Lake. Crews said that a wake boat crashed into a pontoon. Multiple people were taken to the hospital, but one person was missing. Shortly before 4 p.m. July 6, crews said search teams found the body of 25-year-old Nazar Svvintizelskiy. Authorities said that Svvintizelskiy's body was found in 184 feet of water and was taken to the Kentucky Medical Examiner's Office in Frankfort for an autopsy. A memorial service in Svvintizelskiy's honor will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 12, at the Ukrainian Pentecostal Church in Lexington. His funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, July 13 at Clark Legacy Center in Nicholasville.
