EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Fort Bliss soldier who was arrested for his involvement in a fatal DWI crash in November has a sentencing hearing coming up next week. Court records show that 23-year-old Juan Francisco Del Valle had a plea hearing in April. He was charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter in 2024. KTSM 9 News reached out to the El Paso District Attorney's Office regarding the result of the plea hearing, but they could not comment. "Mr. Del Valle has not been sentenced in this case and we're unable to provide comment until he is sentenced on May 13 at 2:30 p.m.," their statement read. Del Valle, who was assigned to the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, is scheduled for sentencing on Wednesday, May 13. In November of last year, Del Valle was reportedly drunk while driving a Grey Honda SUV and ran a red light in Far East El Paso. He struck another car that had two passengers, resulting in the deaths of both individuals. Del Valle was booked into the El Paso County jail under a $520,000 bond.
