Flight instructor, student pilot survive Hobe Sound plane crash

A flight instructor and a student pilot had a frightening moment when their small plane crashed in a field in Hobe Sound. The Martin County Sheriff's Office said the crash happened shortly after 3 p.m. after the plane experienced an engine malfunction just west of I-95 in Hobe Sound. The crash prompted a response from the sheriff's office and Martin County Fire Rescue officers.
