Flight crew member identified in Lincoln County fatal crash
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- The Cloudcroft Fire Department and Lincoln County residents have identified one of the four individuals who died in an aircraft crash on a social media post Friday, May 15. The fire department shared a post about a fundraiser for one of the deceased, identified as Sarah Clark. "One of the med flight crew lost near Capitan was a local. Matt Clark, our friend and Otero County Emergency Manager, lost his daughter today. Our deepest prayers," read the post by Cloudcroft FD. Clark family friends have put together a Meal Train for Sarah Clark's parents and have raised over $2,000. As KTSM 9 News previously reported, Lincoln County officials say the aircraft was traveling from Roswell, New Mexico, to Sierra Blanca Regional Airport on Thursday, May 14, for a medical transport. Trans Aero MedEvac, the company of the missing aircraft, said the crew was "overdue" after communications and radar contact were lost. Trans Aero MedEvac released a statement expressing their sorrow for their crew and has not shared the identities of the people who were on board the plane. "Our hearts are with the families, loved ones, friends and coworkers of those lost in this tragedy. We ask everyone to continue keeping the families of our crew members, as well as the first responders and personnel actively working this crisis, in your thoughts and prayers,” read part of the statement by Trans Aero MedEvac. The cause of the crash is under investigation. A fire broke out with the crash, and as of Friday, the Seven Cabins Fire has grown to 500 acres with 0 percent contained. The other individuals involved in the crash have not been identified.
