Firefighters cut roof off crushed sedan after fatal Winnetka crash
One person was killed and another was injured when a car crashed into a utility pole in Los Angeles' Winnetka neighborhood early Tuesday morning. The crash was reported shortly after 2 a.m. in the 20500 block of West Parthenia Street near Sunny Brae Avenue. Responding firefighters found a white sedan that had jumped a curb and struck a pole. One person, who may have been ejected from the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. A second occupant was trapped inside the wreckage, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Video from the scene showed firefighters had to remove the vehicle's roof to reach the trapped patient. The injured person was transported to a local hospital in an unknown condition. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
