Fiery wreck causes massive backup on I-35
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Two people were hurt after a fiery wreck had traffic backed up in both directions of I-35 for several hours Friday evening. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says just before 6:00 pm Friday. Troopers say three vehicles were involved, including a semi truck and a tractor pulling a brush hog. Investigators believe as the tractor entered onto I-35, the semi truck hit it. The semi then hit another vehicle before it crashed into the underpass of NE 36th and caught on fire. All lanes of I-35 northbound had to be closed at NE 36th because of the wreck. News 4 crews on the scene arrived to find semi truck with Frito-Lays branding charred from the fire. Oklahoma City Fire responded and were able to put the flames out. Troopers say two people were transported to OU Medical with injuries. As of Friday night, it's not clear how seriously those injuries are.
