Fatal single-vehicle crash reported on Edisto Island: CCSO
EDISTO ISLAND, S.C. (WCBD) - The Charleston County Sheriff's Office reported a fatal single-vehicle collision that occurred on Saturday, April 18, on Edisto Island. Deputies responded to the intersection of Highway 174 and Oak Island Road after a report of the collision. The agency says that the initial investigation indicates that a midsize sedan was traveling westbound on Highway 174 when "the driver lost control and struck a tree." The driver was the only occupant inside the vehicle and was pronounced deceased on the scene by Charleston County EMS. Information on the victim's identity will be released by the Charleston County Coroner's Office when appropriate. CCSO's Traffic Services Unit is currently investigating the crash.
