SAN DIEGO COUNTY, Calif., (April 29, 2026) — A fatal car accident occurred early Wednesday morning involving a pedestrian on Di Giorgio Road in the Borrego Springs area. The deadly collision occurred at approximately 5:44 a.m. on April 28th in front of the Santiago Estates mobile home park at 3076 Di Giorgio Road. According to authorities, a red Nissan Frontier pickup truck was involved in a collision with a pedestrian in the area. The roadway was reportedly cleared later in the morning, but initial details indicate the collision was a solo vehicle versus a pedestrian incident. Despite the rapid response of emergency services, the pedestrian succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
