Man turns himself in months after crash kills cyclist in Guyton
Above video: Your Friday headlinesA man has been arrested in connection with a fatal crash that killed a cyclist in Guyton, authorities said.Quinto White, 55, turned himself in Friday at the Effingham County Jail and was charged in connection with the death of Franklin Ross, 58.[image id='a096db6c-a180-45aa-82fb-01a3ebb03f78' mediaId='3aeeeb2b-d640-4b29-a12b-44a08fb46403' align='center' size='medium' share='true' caption='' expand='' crop='4x6'][/image]Crash happened on Honey Ridge RoadDeputies and the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit responded just before 8 a.m. Oct. 20, 2025, to Honey Ridge Road, where investigators said Ross was riding a three-wheeled pedal cycle when he was struck from behind by a pickup truck.Ross was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.Charges filed after investigationAfter investigating the crash, the sheriff’s office traffic unit charged White with following too closely, improper passing of a cyclist and homicide by vehicle.Cpl.
