Fatal pedestrian accident at Coliseum
A tragic incident occurred on Tuesday evening in Fort Wayne, Indiana, as a man lost his life in a collision on Coliseum Boulevard. The Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) responded to reports of a single-car crash involving a pedestrian near the intersection of Coliseum Boulevard and Goshen Road around 7:25 p.m. Emergency personnel found a man with severe injuries on the scene, and despite treatment and transportation to a hospital, he did not survive. The SUV driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities. The investigation indicated that speeding or impairment were not factors in the crash. The eastbound lanes of Coliseum were temporarily closed for investigation, but reopened at 9:30 p.m. The FWPD's Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT) and the Air Support Unit (ASU) are documenting the scene, with ongoing investigations conducted by the FWPD and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
