Fatal one-car crash under investigation in Hyde Park
HYDE PARK, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- The Dutchess County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal one-car crash that happened Sunday night in Hyde Park. According to deputies, the sole-occupant of the car, 20-year-old Austin Caston was pronounced dead at the hospital. Around 9 p.m. on Sunday, the sheriff's office received reports of a crash near Forest Drive in the Town of Hyde Park. Upon arrival, they found a 2009 Pontiac G6 off the road. The Sheriff's Office Detective Bureau and Crash Investigation Unit said a preliminary investigation determined Caston was driving south on N. Quaker Lane when he lost control, left the road and hit a tree. Caston was transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The Sheriff's Office is currently looking for anyone who might have witnessed the crash or events leading to it.
