An incident in Des Plaines, Illinois on Saturday morning resulted in a fatality following a collision between a United States Postal Service (USPS) truck and another vehicle. The crash occurred on Mannheim Road around 10 a.m., involving a 2022 USPS Mercedes-Benz truck and a 2005 Chrysler Sebring. Reports suggest that the USPS truck driver, a 48-year-old man, crossed into oncoming traffic, leading to the head-on collision with the Chrysler. Tragically, the driver of the Chrysler, Laurie Jensen, a 65-year-old from Mount Prospect, did not survive the crash and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The USPS driver, who mentioned losing control of his vehicle, received a citation for improper lane usage and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 16. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
