Fatal freeway collision in L.A. involving semi-truck: CHP
A fatal collision involving a semi-truck and another vehicle occurred on the 210 Freeway in the Sylmar neighborhood of the San Fernando Valley. The California Highway Patrol received initial reports of the crash around 5 a.m. near Polk Street. Emergency responders arrived quickly and closed all eastbound lanes for about three hours, leading to traffic diversions onto Roxford Avenue. The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed a fatality on the scene and helped CHP with the removal of the deceased. The cause of the incident and the identity of the deceased individual are still under investigation. By just before 10 a.m., authorities reopened all lanes on the eastbound 210 Freeway at Polk Street. Mitzi Vasquez contributed to this information.
