Fatal crash involving a tractor trailer occurred in the Town of Nichols - WIVT
TOWN OF NICHOLS, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - New York State Police announced that a car crash in the Town of Nichols resulted in one fatality. According to police, the crash involving a 2020 Mitsubishi SUV and a tractor trailer occurred on March 6th at approximately 1:53 AM. Police revealed that the driver of the SUV, Kaden T. Watson of Warren P.A. and the tractor trailer driver, were traveling west on State Route 17. The SUV had struck a guard rail, stopping partially in the right lane and became inoperable due to airbag deployment after having gone off the roadway. The tractor trailer had struck the stopped SUV and went down an embankment into a tree. Watson was able to exit the vehicle prior to it being struck. He did not show any signs of impairment and did not report any injuries. The tractor trailer driver, identified as a 70-year-old male from Ontario, was located by police inside the cab deceased.
