Fatal crash in western Iowa under investigation
The Iowa State Patrol is currently looking into a tragic accident that took place in Crescent in the early hours of Wednesday. At approximately 5:30 a.m., a fatal crash occurred involving a semi-truck being driven by 69-year-old Robert Johnson Jr. Traveling westbound on Interstate 80, the vehicle suddenly left the road, ultimately crashing into a ditch and colliding with trees. Johnson was discovered ejected from the vehicle upon arrival of emergency personnel and was tragically pronounced deceased at the site of the incident. Authorities are working to determine the cause of the accident that led to the semi-truck going off the roadway.
