Fatal crash in Tippecanoe County claims woman's life.

A woman tragically lost her life in a collision in Tippecanoe County on Saturday morning, prompting an ongoing investigation by the Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office. At approximately 5:16 a.m., emergency responders were called to the scene of a crash on State Road 25 near County Road 700 North. Upon arrival, they discovered two passenger cars and a semi-truck were involved in the accident. A preliminary report indicates that a Ford Focus lost control on the icy road, resulting in a collision with a Hyundai traveling in the same direction. Tragically, a female passenger seated in the Hyundai's back seat was fatally injured in the incident. The identities of those involved will be disclosed after an autopsy is conducted by the Sheriff's Office. While drugs and alcohol are not believed to have contributed to the crash, toxicology screenings have been carried out as part of the inquiry. Additionally, a separate incident involving a bus carrying high school students occurred nearby later that morning, though luckily, all passengers sustained only minor injuries and were treated before being released. After several hours, all lanes on SR 25 were reopened by 10 a.m. as the investigation into the tragedy continues.
