Fatal crash closes stretch of Broad Street in Henrico
HENIRCO COUNTY, Va. — A fatal crash has shut down a stretch of West Broad Street in Henrico County Saturday morning, according to police.Henrico Police said officers are investigating a crash along eastbound Broad Street (Route 250) near Willard Road, not far from Glenside Drive and Hungary Spring Road. The wreck was reported around 6:30 a.m., according to the department’s online emergency communications logs.“As a result of the investigation, eastbound traffic in the area is closed to all traffic currently,” police said in a statement. “Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes until the roadway can be safely reopened.”Detours being set up by VDOT direct eastbound traffic from Broad Street to Wistar Road, to Staples Mill Road, then onto Glenside Drive back to Broad Street.Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Henrico Police at (804) 501‑5000 or contact Metro Richmond Crime Stoppers at (804) 780‑1000.This is a developing story.
