Fatal crash claims life of Howell County man
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Mo. — A Howell County man has died following a single-vehicle crash on Saturday, May 23. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) crash report, a 41-year-old Mountain View man died around 9:28 p.m. on County Road 2900, 1.5 miles south of Mountain View. Law enforcement says the crash occurred as the man was driving a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan east when he failed to navigate a curve and ran off the roadway. The vehicle is said to have struck a fence and then overturned. MSHP states the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The next of kin has been notified. The report claims the man was not wearing a seatbelt during the incident. Troopers of MSHP were assisted by the Mountain View Fire Department, Mountain View Police Department, the Howell County Sheriff's Office and an ambulance from Mercy Hospital for the event. This is the 10th fatality for 2026 for Troop G.
