Fatal Christmas Eve Crash Near Sacramento
A tragic incident occurred on Christmas Eve just north of Sacramento where a driver lost their life in a fiery crash on Interstate 80. The California Highway Patrol reported that the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District responded to a collision in the eastbound lanes near Elkhorn Boulevard in Foothills Farms. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a van that had veered off the road and collided with a tree, causing the vehicle to ignite. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by Metro Fire personnel, and there were no other vehicles involved. Authorities have not disclosed the driver's identity or the reason for the van going off the road.
