Fatal car crash on Red Oak Road in Barnwell County on New Year’s Day
Tragic news from Barnwell County, South Carolina, as a fatal car accident occurred on Red Oak Road near Pallett Lane on New Year's Day. The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred around 1 AM. Reports indicate that the driver of a 2015 Honda Accord veered off the road and collided with a concrete loading platform. In total, there were five occupants in the vehicle, including the driver. The driver and four passengers sustained injuries and were taken to Wellstar MCG Health, but sadly, one passenger lost their life at the accident site. The SCHP has noted that the incident is currently under investigation.
