Fatal Car Accident in West Columbus
A man tragically lost his life in a car accident in west Columbus when his vehicle became airborne on Wednesday night. The driver, identified as Richard Coverdale, was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee on Roberts Road near Old Roberts Road when the accident occurred. Coverdale veered off the road, struck a guardrail, and the Jeep went airborne before landing and rolling over multiple times. The impact caused him to be ejected from the vehicle onto the grass. Despite being taken to Riverside Hospital in critical condition, Coverdale passed away at 2:17 a.m. on Thursday. The Columbus police's accident investigation unit is currently looking into the details of the crash.
