Fatal California car crash claims lives of two Indian women; families reveal they were job hunting in US

Two Indian women, Pullakhandam Meghana Rani and Kadiyala Bhavana, who were close friends and seeking employment opportunities in the United States, tragically lost their lives in a car accident in California. The incident occurred as they were returning from a brief outing with friends over the weekend. Originally from Telangana, India, they had come to the US three years ago to pursue their master's degrees. Despite the presence of other friends in the vehicle, the car veered off the road near Alabama and both Meghana and Bhavana lost their lives instantly, while the others sustained serious injuries. Meghana's father operates a Mee-Seva center, and Bhavana's father serves as the deputy sarpanch of Mulkanoor village, as mentioned in a report. Efforts are underway to raise funds to repatriate Meghana's body back to India. A heartfelt message shared on the fundraiser described Meghana as a compassionate and lively individual who always prioritized others over herself. The tragic incident marks the second loss faced by the Indian community in the US this week, following the untimely passing of Yashwanth Kumar Goshika from Telangana, who succumbed to a health condition associated with sleep apnea in Dallas. A separate fundraiser has been launched to aid in the repatriation of Yashwanth's remains to India.
