Fatal accident on Mathis Mill Road in Wilkes County
A fatal single-vehicle accident occurred on Tuesday evening in Wilkes County, resulting in the death of a 35-year-old man identified as Brent Andrew Reynolds from Roaring River. The incident, investigated by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, took place at the intersection of Mathis Mill Road and Berry Lane. Reynolds, driving a 2014 Ram truck, veered over the center line, crashed into a tree, and overturned after going off the left side of the road. Sadly, he was not wearing a seatbelt and succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The collision led to the closure of Mathis Mill Road for two hours for the investigation.
