Family members recognized in fatal Grand Parkway accident
Authorities in Fort Bend County have released the names of the three family members who tragically lost their lives in a recent collision on Grand Parkway. The incident occurred early Saturday morning on SH-99 near FM 1464 when a family of four was hit by a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction. Sadly, a woman and a girl were pronounced dead at the scene, while a man passed away at the hospital. The deceased victims have been identified as 27-year-old Lizbeth Rodriguez Contreras, 26-year-old Diego Pena Jr., and 5-year-old Camila Pena. A three-year-old boy and the driver responsible for the crash were hospitalized, with both expected to recover. The surviving victim and the alleged wrong-way driver have not been named. Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the crash and suspect that alcohol may have been a factor, although this has not been confirmed. Charges against the 28-year-old female suspect will be determined pending the ongoing investigation.
