Family displaced after tractor-trailer crashes into Dundalk homes

A tractor-trailer crashed into multiple homes on Dundalk Avenue Wednesday evening, damaging porches and traffic poles.Video obtained by WBAL-TV 11 News shows the moment the truck, coming down Dundalk Avenue just before 5 p.m., plowed through a traffic light pole, dragged it along, before coming to a stop in the front yards of several homes. Part of the traffic light landed on a nearby car, and additional light poles were also taken out in the crash. Brian Hilton, who heard the crash, said he immediately ran to help the driver. "I ran up to the truck door, hollered for the driver, opened up the door, got him out of the truck, then crawled under the tractor-trailer and got to the front porch," Hilton said. "I'm hollering to make sure nobody is in the house and looking in the debris making sure there are no bodies or nothing."Residents who talked with WBAL-TV 11 News expressed disbelief at the scene. "I've been here for years, never seen nothing like that," one person said. "This is by far one of the craziest things I've seen," Hilton added.According to Baltimore County police, the driver of the tractor-trailer was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The Baltimore County Fire Department confirmed only one person was taken to the hospital following the crash.As of 10 p.m., efforts were still underway to remove the tractor-trailer from the house.One family was displaced from their house due to the incident and is receiving assistance from the Red Cross, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department.
