Eugene police investigate fatal rollover crash on I-105
A single-vehicle rollover crash on eastbound I-105 in Eugene left one person dead early May 23, and investigators are working to determine what caused it. At 6:56 a.m., Eugene Police and Eugene Springfield Fire responded to the crash on I-105 eastbound between I-5 and Coburg Road. Police said the vehicle, a GMC Jimmy, crashed head-on into a large fir tree. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Eugene Police said its Major Collision Investigation team was called out and is investigating the crash.
