Epworth Road closed after vehicle accident causes power lines to fall
An incident in Newburgh resulted in the closure of a road due to fallen power lines. The Ohio Township Fire Department responded to a call about an accident with injuries at 12:56 p.m. on Wednesday on Epworth Road. There were reports that power lines had trapped someone in a car which was also catching fire, but a nearby resident managed to extinguish a small fire using a fire extinguisher before emergency personnel arrived. Upon arrival, firefighters found two vehicles near or with power lines and at 1:22 p.m., CenterPoint confirmed the scene was safe and passengers were removed and one person was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Epworth Road was closed for an extended period as CenterPoint worked to restore service to the area.
