Elderly woman killed in Lorain County accident: OSHP
Authorities are currently looking into a tragic accident that occurred in Lorain County on Friday, resulting in a loss of life. The incident took place near 1:30 p.m. on State Route 301 in Carlisle Township. Initial findings by the Ohio State Highway Patrol indicate that a 2004 Chrysler PT-Cruiser driver pulled out onto State Route 301 from a private driveway, heading north, while simultaneously, a 2025 Ford F-350 driver attempted to pass on the left. Unfortunately, this led to a collision between the vehicles, pushing them off the road. The Chrysler driver, a 63-year-old male, sustained severe injuries and was taken to UH Elyria Hospital, while a passenger in the Chrysler, 71-year-old Elaine Patterson, tragically passed away at the scene. The Ford driver, a 46-year-old male, suffered minor injuries, and a passenger in the truck escaped unharmed. All individuals involved in the crash were securely wearing seat belts. The Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate this devastating incident.
