Eaton County man dies after off-road vehicle hits deer
LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A 46-year-old Eaton Rapids man died Thursday night after he hit a deer with an off-road vehicle in Ingham County, the sheriff’s office said. The Ingham County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched at about 9:47 p.m. to the 5800 block of Gale Road for the crash, according to the sheriff’s office. The driver was traveling north on Gale Road when the side-by-side utility vehicle struck a deer, ran off the road and crashed into a tree, the sheriff’s office said. The Onondaga Township Fire Department and an MMR ambulance responded and attempted lifesaving measures, but the driver died from his injuries. The man’s name is being withheld until family members can be notified, the sheriff’s office said. Investigators asked anyone with information about the crash to contact Deputy Kyle Gask-Wilson at 517-676-8444, ext. 1940.
