Driver suffers life-threatening injuries in London Bridge Road crash
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A driver has life-threatening injuries following a crash on London Bridge Road Thursday morning, according to Virginia Beach Police. According to officials, officers were called to the 1700 block of London Bridge Road at 10:38 a.m. following a report of a single vehicle crash. Upon arrival, units located a crash and an injured driver. The driver was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police posted a traffic alert on social media just before 11 a.m. stating that both directions of travel were closed. Police said to expect heavy traffic in this area, and suggested using the alternate route of Dam Neck Road to Drakesmile Road and Harpers Road to Oceana Road to get around the crash scene. Just before 2 p.m., VBPD provided an update that London Bridge Road had reopened. No additional information has been released at this time.
