Driver killed, passenger injured in York County crash
YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) -- A man died, and a woman was injured early Wednesday morning after a single-vehicle crash in York County, according to Virginia State Police. State police responded to I-64 at the 237-mile marker at approximately 4:35 a.m. in reference to a single-vehicle accident. The vehicle ran off the road to the right and struck a tree, subsequently overturning. Two people were in the vehicle during the crash. The driver, identified as 27-year-old Tyrique Gilliam, suffered fatal injuries while the passenger, a 20-year-old woman, sustained minor injuries. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment. State police say the vehicle was removed from the scene, and all lanes of travel are now open. The incident is under investigation.
