Driver dies after truck rolls down embankment in a Washington state forest
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A driver died after a single-vehicle crash on a road within the Yacolt Burn State Forest in Washington, authorities said. Emergency responders were dispatched to the crash on the L-1500 Road east of the L-1510 in an area that is managed by the Department of Natural Resources. DNR Police, the Clark County Sheriff's Office, and Clark County Fire District 3 all responded and located a man who was dead and later determined to be the sole occupant of a nearby Toyota Tacoma pickup truck. According to the sheriff's office, the man was traveling west down L-1500 road when the truck went off the gravel road, hit a stump, and rolled down an embankment. He wasn't wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. No further information, including the identity of the deceased driver, was immediately available.
