Driver dies after tractor-trailer overturns in Route 2 crash, state police say
The driver of a tractor-trailer who was seriously injured after the vehicle overturned on Route 2 earlier this week has died, state police confirmed.The crash happened at about 4 p.m. Tuesday on Route 2 East in Fitchburg. Video from Sky 5 showed the truck on its side in the left lane and part of the right lane of the highway. The cab was damaged and detached from the rest of the vehicle. Fuel was leaking from the truck. The driver did not survive the injuries from the crash. The driver's name has not been released. The crash remains under investigation.
