Driver charged in fatal DWI crash requests lower bail

BARRY COUNTY, Mo. — An Oklahoma woman charged with driving drunk when she hit and killed a pedestrian in Barry County seven months ago makes her first court appearance. Jordan Arevalo, 28, appeared in a Barry County courtroom today (3/25) on charges of driving while intoxicated causing the death of another and operating a vehicle without insurance. She pleaded not guilty and requested her bail be lowered from $100,000 cash only. Prosecutors filed charges against Arevalo on Friday in connection to an incident on August 23, 2025, on Route J, south of Golden. Troopers say she hit Jake Dimello, 30, of Seligman, who died from his injuries two weeks later. Investigators say Arevalo's speech was slurred, and she appeared drunk. Court records say her BAC was .142.
