DPS trooper involved in three-car crash in Edinburg
EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a three-vehicle crash that involved one of its troopers. DPS spokeswoman Sgt. Maria Hernandez said the collision happened at the intersection of Canton and Jackson roads in Edinburg around 11:30 a.m. She said the trooper entered the intersection when he struck a passenger vehicle, and then a second. "The drivers of the regular passenger vehicles were taken to area hospitals with minor, non-life threatening injuries. The trooper was also taken to a local hospital for precautionary measures," said Sgt. Hernandez. DPS would not say what caused the crash.
